About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Waypoint Psychology was founded by Dr. Zackery A. Tedder with a clear mission: to provide psychologically sound, legally relevant, and diagnostically precise services in a landscape often clouded by confusion and competing narratives. The practice grew out of more than a decade of experience in correctional, court, and clinical settings, where the need for clarity, integrity, and structured psychological input became increasingly apparent.

The name Waypoint reflects the role of the practice as a strategic reference point. Whether guiding attorneys through complex evaluations, helping families understand cognitive or emotional functioning, or offering clients a clearer path forward, the goal is always the same: clarity and direction based on sound psychological principles.

Our Story

Waypoint Psychology was built from the ground up through years of hands-on experience, academic discipline, and a clear-eyed view of what works in both clinical and forensic settings. It is the culmination of Dr. Tedder’s journey from early undergraduate coursework in psychology to over a decade of applied practice and ultimately the completion of his doctorate in clinical psychology.

Before founding Waypoint, Dr. Tedder spent more than 10 years working as a Licensed Psychological Associate with Independent Practice in Texas. During that time, he built a diverse skill set across clinical, forensic, and neuropsychological domains. He provided services in correctional facilities, treatment centers, and private practice, working closely with individuals facing complex challenges and legal scrutiny. That real-world exposure shaped a direct, pragmatic, and no-nonsense approach to psychological work and one that is grounded in evidence, not ideology.

His pursuit of doctoral training added depth to that foundation, offering opportunities to refine diagnostic expertise and formalize forensic assessment strategies. Along the way, he began developing structured protocols for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), bringing diagnostic precision and therapeutic clarity into a space often lacking in standardization. Whether conducting a forensic risk evaluation or tailoring an intervention strategy for a client in crisis, Dr. Tedder’s work is defined by clarity, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to relevance.

Waypoint Psychology was created to formalize these principles into a focused, client-aligned practice. Every evaluation, consultation, or therapeutic engagement reflects a consistent goal: cut through the noise, define the problem, and identify what actually makes a difference.
